JOB DESCRIPTION:

Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant needed to support several managers at faith-based and pro-life non-profit organization located in Middletown, CT. If you want to be a part of the greatest human rights and social justice struggle of our time, then this is the position for you.

 

Bookkeeping Requirements:

  • Min. 5+ years’ experience with QuickBooks 

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles

  • Experience and responsibility over A/R, A/P and payroll

  • Preparation of monthly bank draws

  • Reconciling and maintaining all monthly G/L accounts

  • Familiar with financial statements, including an understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and budget variances

  • Month end close and preparation

 

Administrative Assistant Requirements:

  • Establish an electronic filing system

  • Maintain manual filing systems

  • Support Community Organizing team and manager

  • Assist manager with preparing weekly reports utilizing online CRM software.

  • Assist in the production of training manuals including flow charts and instructions

  • Establish office supply inventory

  • Create complex Excel Spread sheets

  • Create Power Point Presentation slide from information provided by management

  • Schedule, organize and attend even and weekend conference, conventions and special events

  • Typing and other office duties as may be required

  • Produce correspondence

  • Assist management with preparing senior-level updates for weekly, bi-weekly, bi-monthly and quarterly meetings

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent computer skills (Min. 5+ years’ experience) with advanced   abilities in Excel and Word

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications

  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills

  • Min. 5+ years’ experience with QuickBooks 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an Christian office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
